Tsavo East is one of the largest and oldest national parks in Kenya, covering approximately 13,747 square kilometers. Tsavo West, covering 9,065 square kilometers, is known for its rugged terrain, volcanic landscapes, and lush greenery. It provides a contrasting environment to Tsavo East with its hilly terrain, natural springs, and diverse habitats. Wildlife is abundant, including the “Big Five” and over 500 bird species. Highlights include Mzima Springs, Shetani Lava Flows, Rhino Sanctuary, Scenic Views.
Tsavo East is more open, with vast plains ideal for spotting large herds of wildlife. Tsavo West is more dramatic, with rugged landscapes, volcanic features, and lush oases. Together, these parks form the largest protected area in Kenya, offering diverse wildlife and breathtaking scenery.
Arrive in Nairobi and meet our company safari guide. After a brief introduction and safari briefing, depart for Tsavo East National Park (approx. 6-hour drive). Enroute, enjoy scenic views of Kenya's countryside. Arrive at your lodge or camp near the park. Check in and have lunch. In the Evening, Embark on your first game drive in Tsavo East. Spot elephants, lions, and giraffes in the vast plains. Watch for the famous red-dust elephants. Dinner and overnight stay (Lodge or tented camp) within or near Tsavo East.
