Embark on a thrilling 4-day hike to Mount Karisimbi, Rwanda’s highest volcano and the fifth tallest mountain in Africa. This adventure takes you through the stunning landscapes of Volcanoes National Park, home to diverse flora and fauna, including the famous mountain gorillas. Your journey begins with a trek through lush rainforest and bamboo forests, guided by experienced trackers who share their knowledge of the local ecology and wildlife.
The hike to Mount Karisimbi’s summit is both challenging and rewarding. As you ascend, you’ll pass through various vegetation zones, from dense forests to alpine meadows, experiencing the changing scenery and climate. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to spot unique wildlife, including golden monkeys and various bird species. The final ascent to the summit, standing at 4,507 meters (14,787 feet), offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding volcanoes and the distant landscape.
Each night, you’ll camp in designated sites, enjoying the tranquility of the mountain and the camaraderie of fellow hikers. Our Company's tourist guide will meet you at Kigali International Airport (KGL) and transfer to volcanoes national park. Have a shot brief about your safari adventure. Lunch on our way, check in at the lodge, relax and prepare for your adventure.
NB; there is an option of a city tour( the parliament, local market, genocide memorial, different art crafts etc.)

An early morning breakfast, transfer to the park head quarters for a debrief about the activity, allocation of ranger guides, driver to the start point or the base of the volcano. You will have packed lunch and enough drinking water during your hike, expect a jungle picnic. The trek is for 2 day depending how strong and physically you are. you will camp at the middle of the mountain and descend down to the base of the volcano the following day.
NB; here we hire a mountaining service that caters for all the needs of the mountain trek.

Today is our 2nd day on the mountain. depending on your program with your rangers, its still the day that you will be descending down to the base of the volcano. Have a rest and relax after your 2days trek.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before driving back to Kigali. Enroute, stop at the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo for picturesque views and photo opportunities. Lunch on our way, check in at the lodge or hotel ready for departure. Upon arrival in Kigali, have some time for last-minute shopping at local markets or craft centers. Transfer to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your unforgettable gorilla and golden monkey adventure.
