Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and City Tour

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. After check-in and some time to relax, embark on a guided tour of Kigali city. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn about Rwanda’s history and resilience. Explore local art galleries, craft markets, and enjoy panoramic views from Mount Kigali. In the evening, dine at a local restaurant offering a taste of Rwandan cuisine. Overnight in Kigali.

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park – Evening Game Drive

After breakfast, depart Kigali for Akagera National Park, located in the eastern part of Rwanda, a drive of about 2.5 to 3 hours through scenic countryside. Upon arrival, check in at the lodge and enjoy lunch while overlooking the park’s vast plains. In the late afternoon, head out for an evening game drive in the southern sector of the park, which is rich in plains game such as zebras, impalas, buffaloes, and giraffes. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Full-Day Game Drive and Boat Safari on Lake Ihema

Start the day early with a packed breakfast and head into the park for a full-day game drive. Traverse the northern plains where you may encounter elephants, lions, leopards, and herds of antelope grazing freely. Your guide will navigate through various habitats, from open grasslands to woodland savannahs and wetlands. Break for a picnic lunch at one of the designated viewpoints. In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat safari on Lake Ihema, where you will see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birdlife including fish eagles and kingfishers. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Return to Kigali

After an early breakfast, enjoy a short morning game drive for one last chance to spot wildlife. You’ll exit the park through the southern gate and begin your journey back to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, there may be time for a visit to local markets or souvenir shopping. Arrive at Kigali International Airport for your departure or be dropped off at your accommodation if you’re extending your stay.
