Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Arrive at Kigali International Airport and meet your safari guide. Briefing on the safari itinerary and local customs. City Tour (Optional, depending on arrival time). Your guide will provide an introduction to the lake, its history, and its significance in the region. Canoe or Motorboat Tour of the Islands. Visit notable islands such as Punishment Island Learn about its history, where women who became pregnant out of wedlock were once abandoned. Bushara Island Known for its eco-tourism efforts and bird watching opportunities. Bwama Island, Explore its history as a leprosy treatment center. Swimming and Relaxation. Take a dip in the lake’s refreshing waters. Lake Bunyonyi is one of the few lakes in East Africa free from bilharzia and crocodiles, making it safe for swimming.
