8 Days Scenic Kenya Wildlife Safari: Day by Day

Day 01: Arrival in Nairobi

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by your safari guide and transferred to your hotel in Nairobi. Depending on your arrival time, you may take a city tour to visit attractions such as the Giraffe Centre, the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, or the Karen Blixen Museum. Alternatively, you can relax at your hotel and prepare for the adventure ahead. Dinner and overnight stay in Nairobi.

Day 2: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

After an early breakfast, you will depart Nairobi and head north towards Samburu National Reserve, a scenic drive of about 6 hours. As you travel through the central highlands, you will pass coffee and tea plantations before descending into the semi-arid landscape of Samburu. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge and enjoy lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Samburu is home to unique wildlife species such as the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk. You may also spot elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs. After the game drive, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

During the midday break, you can relax at your lodge or take an optional cultural visit to a Samburu village to learn about their traditions and way of life. Day 04: Samburu to Lake Nakuru National Park

After an early breakfast, you will depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, a journey of about 6 hours through the stunning Rift Valley region. You will arrive in time for lunch at your lodge, followed by an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is famous for its flamingos that create a pink hue along the lake’s shores, as well as for being a sanctuary for black and white rhinos. Other wildlife commonly seen include buffalo, giraffes, lions, leopards, and baboons. You will enjoy the scenic views from Baboon Cliff before returning to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Amboseli is famous for its large elephant herds and stunning views of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro. You will have a chance to capture incredible photographs of elephants walking against the backdrop of the snow-capped peak. After the game drive, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 08: Amboseli to Nairobi and Departure

Upon arrival, you may have time for last-minute shopping or a visit to a local restaurant for lunch before being transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight.
