Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary
After an early breakfast, you will begin the journey to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area. Along the way passing by the famous Luweero Triangle , you will stop at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino tracking experience, giving you a chance to see these endangered giants in their natural habitat. After lunch, continue to Murchison Falls, where you will take a short hike to the top of the falls for a breathtaking view of the Nile as it forces its way through a narrow 7-meter gorge. Early in the morning, you will have game drive around northern banks of river Nile. You have great chances of spotting elephants, lions, giraffes, hartebeest to list the few and bird species. Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking-visiting the Bigodi Swamp
After an early breakfast, you will head into Kibale Forest for a thrilling chimpanzee trekking experience. The trek lasts between two to four hours, depending on the movement of the chimpanzees. Once you locate them, you will spend an hour observing their interactions, playful behaviors, and communication. After lunch, you will take a guided nature walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run project that is home to various monkey species, birds, and rare plants. Dinner and overnight in Kibale National Park.
After breakfast, Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park a three-hour drive through scenic crater lakes and rolling hills. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and have lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive in the Kasenyi Plains. After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting off into the rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek can take anywhere from two to six hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. Once you locate them, you will spend one hour in their presence, observing their interactions and behaviors. After lunch at the lodge, you will take part in a community visit to meet the Batwa people, the indigenous forest dwellers who once lived in Bwindi before it became a national park. You will learn about their traditional hunting techniques, medicinal plants, and cultural dances. 6 Days Gorillas & Chimps Trekking Safari: Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or from Entebbe international airport on arrival for your 6 Day Uganda Primates Trekking safari. Transfer to Kibale forest heading west past mubende and continue to Fort Portal where you will stop for lunch. Proceed to Kibale forest arriving in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at your preferred lodge.
After morning breakfast, wake up early to track chimps near Kanyanchu. This can take you half a day. There are 13 other primate species that live in Kibale forests and you will therefore encounter some of them during your chimp trek, these include the golden monkey, L’Hoest monkey, baboons, white and black colobus monkeys, grey checked mangabey, red colobus, blue monkeys and pottos. Other animals include forest elephants unique from the common type, giant forest hogs and a striking tree species. Enjoy Lunch and later take a guided nature walk to Bigodi swamp sanctuary, a good site for birders. The Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek can easily be marked among the other bird 137 species. There is also an array of butterfly species. Later return for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
You will enjoy morning breakfast and set off for Bwindi forest the home of half of the remaining mountain gorilla population in the world driving through Ishasha sector in Queen Elizabeth National park famous for tree climbing lions. Continue to Bwindi with lunch en-route arriving in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at your preferred lodge.

Day 4: Mountain gorilla tracking in Bwindi and transfer to Mgahinga
After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters for registration and joining others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour. Once this is done, you will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you from half an hour to three quarters of the day.
The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. On your trek, you are likely to spot other primates, birds and rare tree species. After finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them before trekking back to the Park headquarter.
This is indeed an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered Creatures. You will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and thus contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas.
Later in the afternoon, you will transfer Mgahinga gorilla national Park home of Gorillas and Golden Monkeys.

Day 5: Golden Monkey trekking and transfer to lake bunyonyi
After an early morning breakfast, you will head out for Golden monkey trekking in Mgahinga gorilla national park. This activity will last for 3 hours in which you will spot the several monkey species in the area. Later in the afternoon, transfer from Mgahinga gorilla national park to lake Bunyonyi, uganda’s deepest and most beautiful lodge, dotted with several islands.

Day 6: Canoeing on lake Bunyonyi and Departure
Enjoy morning breakfast and then go for a canoeing activity on lake Bunyonyi where you will take photos of this beautiful lake, and interact with the locals. Later you transfer back to Kampala, Lunch en-route. The guide will drop you off at your hotel in Kampala.

If you intend to fly out this very day, you will not do the canoeing activity, you will simply utilize day 4 of the trip to take photos as day 5 will only be for transfer.
You are required to book a late flight since the driving time is over 8 hours.

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale National Park–Bigodi Wetland Walk
After breakfast, you will begin your journey to Kibale National Park, a scenic six-hour drive through rolling green countryside and tea plantations. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge and later visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community conservation area that is home to various monkey species, including red colobus, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and vervet monkeys, as well as an abundance of birdlife. Dinner and overnight in Kibale.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale–Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Early in the morning, you will set out to the park headquarters for a general briefing about the national park and its attractions, then will set off for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest. Accompanied by expert guides, you will track a habituated troop of chimpanzees and observe them as they feed, groom, and communicate. The trek lasts between 2-4 hours. After lunch, you will descend for Queen Elizabeth National Park, a three-hour drive offering stunning views of the Rwenzori Mountains. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge and enjoy an evening game drive in search of elephants, buffaloes, and the park’s famous tree-climbing lions. Today is the highlight of the safari as you set off for gorilla trekking in Bwindi. After an early breakfast, you will attend a briefing at the park headquarters before heading into the dense rainforest with experienced rangers to track a habituated gorilla family. The trek can take anywhere from two to six hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. Once you locate them, you will spend one magical hour observing their interactions. After lunch at the lodge, you will visit a nearby community to learn about the traditions and way of life of the Batwa pygmies, the indigenous people of the forest. Dinner and overnight in Bwindi.

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Having had breakfast at the hotel, you will be picked up by our representative so as to set off from Kampala early enough so as to be on the road as you drive southwest to bwindi forest. Along the way you will then have a stopover at the equator where you could take pictures to keep the memory, grab refreshments, there are also craft shops that are well stocked with African items so you can visit them in case of interest. When back on the road to continue your journey you will be able to have great views of the land scape, beautiful panorama, plus the great and hospitable Ankole people. Your next stop will be in Mbarara town for lunch maybe plus a little shopping and then head straight for the park
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest National Park
Having dressed up accordingly to the trekking activity early morning breakfast will your packed lunch and water get to the park headquarters in time for briefing before you head on for the activity’s head into the forest to search for the mountain gorillas in the dense forested area with slippery slopes and the mist covered vegetation. After breakfast and briefing by park ranger guides, depart with picnic lunch boxes to start a 30 minutes – 8 hours trek to find the Mountain gorillas as you hike up and down slippery slopes with dense mist covered vegetation. The activity is surely strenuous but then again fully rewarding on sight of the huge gorillas, you will be able to take pictures and observe their various characters as they feed play and relate. Your allowed a full hour with these creatures and there after head back freshen up dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Drive to Kampala
This day will mark the end of your three days safari. You will check out of the hotel with your back pack then embark on the journey to Kampala with a stopover at Igongo cultural centre where you will have lunch and also take a mini tour in the Centre to know more about the Ankole culture. Then drive to Kampala it could be to the hotel or the airport in case you’re to catch your flight back.
