Day 5: Golden Monkey Tracking or Hike to Dian Fossey Tomb
After breakfast, you can choose between two optional activities. You can either embark on a golden monkey tracking experience or hike to the Dian Fossey Tomb. If you choose golden monkey tracking, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing. Golden monkeys are known for their playful nature, and the trek usually takes 3 to 4 hours. Once you find the monkeys, you will spend one hour observing them in their natural habitat. Alternatively, you can choose the Dian Fossey Tomb hike. The hike to the tomb is about 3 to 4 hours and takes you through dense forest to the site where Dian Fossey, the renowned gorilla conservationist, is buried. You will also visit her former research center and learn about her contributions to gorilla conservation. After return to the lodge for lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure. You can relax.
