Day 5: Transfer to Mgahinga for Golden Monkey Tracking / Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, depart Bwindi for Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, located within the stunning Virunga mountain range. Upon arrival, proceed to the park offices for a briefing on golden monkey tracking. The trek leads you through bamboo forests and gentle volcanic foothills until you find the lively golden monkeys, known for their playful behavior and striking colors. Spend time observing and photographing them before returning to your lodge for lunch, after the journey contiues towards lake bunyonyi. the drive is one hour and half. Often described as one of Africa’s most beautiful lakes, Bunyonyi offers a perfect setting to unwind after days of trekking. Check in at your lakeside lodge and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. You will depart early in the morning from Entebbe or Kampala for a full-day road journey to Uganda’s far southwest, driving through diverse landscapes including rolling hills, savannah plains, and lush highland farms. This route offers an immersive window into rural Uganda, with scenic stops along the way for refreshments, photography, and lunch in Mbarara or Kabale town. As you ascend into the Kigezi Highlands, often called the “Switzerland of Africa,” the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic. Upon reaching Kisoro, you’ll check in to your lodge, located either in the volcanic foothills or by the shores of Lake Mutanda. Your professional birding guide will meet you at your accommodation with a pair of binoculars and field guides in hand. After a brief briefing, you’ll set off towards Mabamba Wetlands via Entebbe or the ferry crossing (depending on your location and route choice).

Arrival at Mabamba Wetlands & Birding in Mabamba Swamp

Upon arrival, meet your local canoe captain who will expertly navigate the channels of the swamp in a traditional wooden canoe. This area is a designated Ramsar site and is a birder’s paradise. You’ll spend the morning gliding silently through narrow papyrus-lined channels in search of the Shoebill Stork. Sightings are common in the early morning when these elusive birds are hunting lungfish in shallow waters. More Key Species to Look out for include Shoebill Stork (main target), African Jacana, Papyrus Gonolek, African Pygmy Goose, Malachite Kingfisher, Blue-breasted Bee-eater, Lesser Jacana, Swamp Flycatcher, Goliath Heron, Black Crake.  Your guide will help identify bird calls and assist with photography or eBird checklists.

In the afternoon, enter the Entebbe Botanical Gardens for a guided birding walk. Established in 1898, these gardens offer a mix of indigenous forest, cultivated lawns, and lakeshore habitat, making it a perfect spot to expand your bird checklist. The Target Species at Botanical will include the Great Blue Turaco, Black-and-white Casqued Hornbill, African Paradise Flycatcher, Red-chested Sunbird, Palm-nut Vulture, African Grey Parrot, Ross’s Turaco, Orange Weaver, Klaas’s Cuckoo, Little Greenbul. You may also spot vervet monkeys, black-and-white colobus, and enjoy views of the lake shore, all while walking under the cool shade of ancient trees.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park and game drive

2 Days Fishing in Murchison Falls

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be picked up by our guide driver who will brief you on how your trip will go. You will thereafter hit the road to Murchison Falls National Park via the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. At Ziwa you will encounter the endangered rhinos of the southern white species. You will embark on an hour-guided nature walk to their habitat and spot them as they feed, rest, and roam around. After that precious hour, you will head back onto the road to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival at the lodge will have lunch and prepare for an evening game drive. Our driver guide will then take you on a game drive adventure experience in the park. You will spot several wildlife species like the remaining 4 of the Big 5 lions, elephants, buffaloes, and leopards. Day 2: Half-day fishing & Afternoon game viewing

3-Day fishing safari in Murchison

At dawn, you will be woken up by the sweet melodies of nature and the mouthwatering aroma of your delicious breakfast. After you devour your breakfast, you will receive your packed lunch and head out. Our drive guide will timely transfer you to the Victoria Nile banks on the boat for a full-day fishing adventure. An experienced professional angler and fisherman will usher you in and prepare you for the adventure. He will take you through the best fishing spots and tell you all you need to know about the different fish species in the river. In the afternoon after devouring your packed lunch, you will row your boat downstream. You will throw your fishing rods and silently catch the different fish species such as the tilapia, Nile perch, and tiger fish to mention but a few. As the evening sets in our driver guide will pick you up and transfer you back to your lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 3: Game drive/Chimp trekking and Departure

Early in the morning of the last day of your 3 days fishing safari in Murchison Falls National Park, you will have breakfast. Our driver guide will then transfer you to the park for an early morning game drive or you can opt for chimpanzee trekking in budongo Eco forest. This is probably the best time for a game drive where the early risers will entertain you as they graze.

3-Day fishing safari in Murchison

You will spot several species like antelopes, warthogs, giraffes, hyenas, and waterbuck among others. You will also complete your Big 5 encounter as you spot the other 4 of the Big 5 lions, leopards, buffaloes, and elephants. To finalize your game drive in the park, you will visit the iconic Murchison Falls. This is the main highlight of the game drive experience. As you bid farewell to your 3 day trip, you will take pictures and our driver guide will transfer you back to the lodge for lunch and check out. You will arrive in Entebbe in the evening in time for your departure flight.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary

You will be picked up and ushered into the country by our driver guide upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport. He will brief you entirely about your 4 days sport fishing and chimpanzee trekking in Murchison Falls National Park. You will then embark on a journey to Murchison Falls National Park via Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary and lunch will be enroute. Upon arrival at Zziwa, you will be welcomed by the ranger guides who will take you through the nature walk in the sanctuary. You will meet and interact with the rhinos in a close encounter as you watch them feed, rest, and roam across the sanctuary. You will then head back on the road to Murchison Falls National Park and by evening you will be at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full-day sport fishing

In the morning as you wake up to your delicious breakfast, you will receive your packed lunch before heading out. Our driver guide will then transfer you to the bottom of the falls for a full-day sport fishing exhibition. You will be met by a professional and experienced angler and fisherman who will be your assistant for the day. He will guide you to the best fishing spots and take you through the different fish species in the river. You will have your delicious packed lunch as you fish not miss any moment and fully exhaust your adventure experience. In the evening you will head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise

Murchison Falls National Park

As the day breaks in the early morning scenes, you will enjoy a delightful breakfast before you are picked up by our driver guide. He will then transfer you to the park for an early morning game drive. You will experience the active morning in the savannah plains as the game feeds and the predators head back to their territories after a long night of feasting. Expect to meet various wildlife species including 4 of the Big 5 animals, lions, buffaloes, elephants, and leopards. Other species to encounter include giraffes, waterbucks, reedbucks, antelopes, and warthogs to mention but a few. You will be driven through to the mighty Murchison Falls for sightseeing of the breathtaking power of the falls. You will have lunch at the lodge where our guide will transfer you. In the afternoon after devouring your delicious meal, you will head south for a boat cruise. Hippos and crocodiles are some of the animals to spot while on the boat cruise experience. As the sun fades to give way for the night you will head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Departure

The last day of your 4 days trip will kick off with an early breakfast before the sun bursts its cover. Our guide drive right on time will transfer you to Budongo forest the biggest mahogany forest in Uganda. You will be welcomed by a guide ranger who will take you through a pre-trekking briefing. This briefing prepares you on what to expect from the trekking experience. After this exercise, you will be grouped into groups of 6 people and assigned a ranger guide and chimpanzee troupe to trek. The trekking activity will then begin led by a range guide who will help to track down the primates in the habitat. You will spend an hour in the presence of the chimps watching them feed, play, and roam around with their daily chores. The trekking experience will take about 4 hours including the hour spent with the chimps. You will then head back to the lodge for lunch and depart back to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight back home.

Day 2: Flight from Entebbe to Kidepo Valley National Park

After breakfast, you will transfer to Entebbe Airport for a scenic charter flight to Kidepo Valley National Park, one of Africa’s most remote and untouched wildlife reserves. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by a lodge representative and transferred to your accommodation, offering stunning views of the vast savannah. In the afternoon, you will embark on your first game drive in the Narus Valley, where large herds of buffalo, elephants, zebras, and giraffes roam. The valley is also home to predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. After an exciting wildlife experience, you will return to your lodge for a relaxing evening.

Day 3: Full Day in Kidepo Valley National Park

An early morning game drive will take you deeper into the park’s wilderness, increasing your chances of spotting rare species like cheetahs and the bat-eared fox. You will visit the Kanangorok Hot Springs, located near the South Sudan border, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the rugged landscape. In the afternoon, you will visit a Karimojong Manyatta (traditional homestead) to experience the unique culture of the Karamojong people. You will learn about their warrior traditions, cattle-keeping lifestyle, and enjoy traditional dances before returning to your lodge.

Day 4: Flight from Kidepo to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, you will take a scheduled flight to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge before heading out for an afternoon boat cruise along the Nile. This cruise takes you to the base of the Murchison Falls, where the river is forced through a narrow gorge, creating a spectacular sight. Along the way, you will see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and a variety of bird species. If time allows, you can take a short hike to the top of the falls for a stunning panoramic view of the powerful water cascades.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Swamp Walk

After an early breakfast, you will head to the Kibale Forest headquarters for a briefing before embarking on a chimpanzee trekking experience. Led by expert guides, you will follow forest trails in search of these intelligent primates. Once you locate them, you will spend an hour observing their behavior and interactions. In the afternoon, you will visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run project that supports conservation and local livelihoods. This swamp walk offers a chance to see rare primates, birds, and butterflies in their natural habitat.

Day 10: Gorilla Trekking Experience

This is the highlight of your safari! After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing before embarking on your gorilla trekking experience. The trek can take between 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once you find them, you will spend an unforgettable hour observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. After the trek, you will return to your lodge and spend the rest of the day relaxing.
